18-year-old charged after drive-by shooting in Johnson County

Update: Jonah Henderson, 18, was charged with attempted murder, a level 1 felony, and criminal recklessness, a level 5 felony, on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Original: A Greenwood man has been arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder after a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning in northern Johnson County. 

The Johnson County sheriff's office said Jonah Henderson, 18, is suspected of firing a gun around 11:30 a.m. from a tan or beige Toyota Camry into a home in the 5000 block of Old Smith Valley Road in Greenwood. The car, which had two occupants, then fled the scene, the sheriff's office said.

Henderson was found at 5:17 p.m. in the Del Char Trailer Park and taken into custody without incident. 

A juvenile was driving the car when the shots were fired, the sheriff's office said. An investigation into his involvement in the incident is ongoing. 

No one was hurt in the shooting. A motive is still being investigated, the sheriff's office said. 

Henderson is being held at the Johnson County Jail on $40,000 bond.
